It’s less than a month before Rain Parade arrive in Europe for their first band tour in four decades, and in anticipation they’ve just released a new song ‘Surprise, Surprise’ along with a video created by guitarist Derek See.
The new song is one of four from an upcoming four-track EP Last Stop On The Underground to be released later in the month in the run-up to the tour which begins on 6th June in Oslo.
Founder members Matt Piucci and Steven Roback were last spotted in Europe last Spring playing duo shows as guests of Dream Syndicate. They then released the acclaimed Last Rays Of A Dying Sun, and a few months back joined The Third Mind on a series of West Coast dates.
Aside from Piucci and Roback, Rain Parade’s line-up comprises long-time guitarist John Thoman, guitarist Derek See (The Gentle Cycle, Chocolate Watch Band, Dean & Britta), and drummer/percussionist Stephan Junca (Billy Talbot Band, Jon Anderson, The Hellenes, boatclub).

Also arriving soon is the European version of the Record Store Day double-album of Emergency Third Rail Power Trip released on Label 51. As well as the original album this comes with a whole disc of extras as listed below; alternative versions, demos, and live tracks including a Syd Barrett cover.
Side 1: What She’s Done To Your Mind (original single) | This Can’t Be Today (4 track) | I Look Around (4 track) | Look Both Ways (4 track) | Saturday’s Asylum (live) | First of September (live)
