Last month we flagged up the forthcoming new album from Simon Love Love, Sex And Death Etc to be released by Tapete Records on Friday April 8th. The second single ‘Me And You’ drops today and with it a brand new video. This song was written as an almost play-by-play account of Simon’s actual wedding day in 2016.

Its a suite of sorts, starting with a quiet reflective section about meeting (his wife) Rose in 2014 before bursting into life with glam rock guitar backing for the main marriage bit of the song. The chorus, accompanied by a sparkling trumpet line, is universal “The only me and you, there will ever be, the only me and you we’ll ever need” Then follows a verse about ex-girlfriends that ends with a backwards masked “Death to the West” even so the loving sentiment still stands up in the final chorus.
